TILKA Screening

We were thrilled to host the screening of TILKA at Sikka Saida on Friday, May 17 2024. TILKA is a powerful and timely film about the struggles of five women in Lebanon, facing economic collapse, a global pandemic, and the aftermath of the devastating Beirut port blast.

TILKA, a Seenaryo film directed by Mariam Geagea, is an intimate portrait of Najah, Tima, Rania, Fatima, and Fida as they come together for an artist's residency in March 2021. Their goal? To create a meaningful piece of theatre that reflects their personal experiences during these tumultuous times in Lebanon.

As they work on their play, TILKA beautifully weaves together each woman's individual story with a collective narrative of displacement, motherhood, and hope. This film captures not only the resilience and strength of these incredible women but also sheds light on the larger issues affecting their country.
